DP12-BULLPUP-Lead-1
MaxGunsIssue - While I try to be open-minded about new weapons into the market, I must admit that sometimes underestimate. A new shotgun with bayonet, laser and smoke launcher? Not in the list of top 10 things to see. However, I let myself fall into the trap that the DP-12 shotgun. This is a mistake, the DP-12 is not my first (and fair) thought it was. It is a well-made fighter that deserves further consideration.

Raise the standard

Located in the city covered trees in New Britain, Connecticut, Standard Manufacturing Company hums along perseverance. Installation of more than 100,000 square feet planted in the middle of the Connecticut Valley, which is the heart of the US weapons development for decades. One product that comes in the door of this company is the DP-12 shotgun unique and innovative.
This 12 gauge shotgun combines the best of two worlds: the pump action and a double-barreled shotgun. A stroke pumping action to support two rooms, which can be pulled to trigger successive draws; canon law first and then left. DP-12 using a double-barreled weapon configuration with inline power shotgun. While it is far more complicated than it sounds, DP-12 is like two shotguns combined into one.

Each barrel started as a completely solid steel bar. By grinding and work carefully, very bored barrel and equipped to exacting standards. These qualities are the product of a unique collaboration between the standard and Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Manufacturing Company is famous (MHCC). Famous for high-end hunting shotguns, CSMC offers insight and support for DP-12 weapons manufacturers. This relationship is one of the factors responsible for the quality of weapons. Using modern manufacturing techniques combined with the expertise of a long, DP-12 is the benefactor of a strong relationship.
"It's a 12-gauge shotgun combines the best of both worlds. The shotgun and double-barreled"
Threaded barrel for reactors as well as spacers for law enforcement and military breachers. Receiver machined from solid billet aluminum. With precise and tight cutting, the original 7-pound aluminum block converted into light and solid base to build on. This design increases the pistol construction, durability and reliability, one of the most important aspects of any firearm.

Fully charged, the gun holds sixteen-inch shells 23/4, with seven in each tube magazines and two in each room. The rooms were polished with micro for the sole purpose of enabling the use of 12 caliber ammunition in the market. This is important because the Standard understand that people will not always look for the best ammunition is on the market. Most of the ammunition arms purchases driven by price.
The gun also has a pistol grip, a foregrip to facilitate handling of the pump, and the lock release action ambidextrous safety lies in a position similar to AR. Shares are comprised of spring, buttpad unique and ingenious reduce recoil. This layer rotating plate DP-12 highly maneuverable and fast. The gun also includes the top rail substantially for mounting sights and other accessories such as lights and lasers, sling and assembly points are included in the stock and close the mouth, on both sides.

Time span

Then a distinguished pedigree and manufacturing high-end calling card good, it will always come into operation on the beach firearms. DP-12 was not disappointed. With a variety of ammunition ranging from high-end ammunition shells that can withstand the most reliable weapon I, DP-12 is not blinking. Pistol is a different experience than any other weapon I fired. Inspire couples quickly with a speed gun which I was not expecting it. The only thing necessary for the preparation of the second shot is repeated trips. Although I have a semi-automatic shotgun class with time, I believe the monitoring cycle in the DP-12 is faster than any other weapon, I pulled. While controlled shots clear goal, that gun reminds me of a Ferrari that prefers to run fast. Triggers on the DP-12 is another area that shines as an example of the relationship with MHCC Standard. MHCC built some of the best double-barreled shotgun in the world; namely that the company knows the trigger is an understatement.

DP12-BULLPUP-Test-8
Matching the trigger is the pumping action of DP-12. It was deliberate, smooth and firm. With beautiful race fast, it's easy and quick to the gun in the struggle. No precipitation or play in the action, reflecting the smooth handling and tracking shots more quickly. I was running tens of thousands of rounds with a 12 caliber shotgun, and this is one of the sweetest acne that I know. A decrease in the reduction of the pistol grip device glad to shoot. While the afternoon shoot a gun is not the reason for reporting sustainability, DP-12 ran perfectly. I do not have any damage, even after a "speed gun" so I can not count the ammunition.

DP12-BULLPUP-receiver-6
Although this shotgun will fill a variety of roles, I believe that the DP-12 can revitalize a gun instead of a pump in law enforcement and the military arena. With its bullpup design, this gun is very easy to run in close proximity. And, coupled with a large capacity of 16 rounds, making the weapon that may remain in the fight. A piece of the puzzle is the ability of DP-12 to be fitted with spacers for violations. Typically, the arms are used to violate the gate, and then stored. DP-12 this change. Finally, guns are easy to draw. Regardless of what people may claim, there is a general fear of the gun; 12 decline in the caliber are the source of many an ice pack over the years. Recoil reduction device incorporated in the stock DP-12 significantly reduces the sharp crack a lot of experience with the use of guns. With training, which can allow the shooter even the most timid of the ability to effectively lead this fight-stopper quickly.

DP12-BULLPUP-Assembly-7
There will always be a traditionalist hardcore in the world of firearms. In fact, I consider myself one of them. There's something to be said about innovation, however. DP-12 is a unique creature in the area where the "new" usually means the company has changed the color of the finish. It is a new type of gun that will take some getting used to for those who get one. Handling of different weapons from the old school pump shotgun, but that does not mean it is bad. I remember a similar discussion when SAR Tavor hit the market a few years ago, but people have adapted quite well to it. I believe that the advantages of the DP-12 is greater than the learning curve that goes with it. To improve accessibility, standard production even started distributing arms directly from the headquarters in Connecticut. If you are like me and initially refused this weapon, it would be worth your time to look at both.

AUG A3 M1 designed to utilize several sighting options,  including a built-in 1.5X optic (shown).
During testing, everyone on the range was impressed with the bullpup’s handling,
high-tech engineering and accurate results.
When I first tested the US made in August back in 2008, I was impressed because Steyr arms capable of emulating the quality and feel of one of the guns that I have in the artificial heart-Austrian AUG me. Today, in 2015, I was more impressed with American-made Steyr Aug / A3 M1, as the company has even been an increase rather than European relatives.
Why? Well, I've shot AUGs Austria for more than 30 years, and I can not think of a better overall rifle. Nothing is perfect, including Austria in August, less than perfect because it has the necessary trigger and re-conventional thanks to its bullpup configuration. But despite two minor problems have been polished over the years in Austria, and they have finally fixed by the American branch of Steyr arms. Now, after installing the optional Trigger Module Hybrid and handling disruptions bullpup, the Steyr has made what many would consider the best August ever.

AUG Long History
In the early 1970s, Steyr Mannlicher developed August (Armee Universal Gewehr, or "universal army rifle"), a bullpup 5.56mm NATO rifle. August and have been adopted by the Austrian Army as STG 77 (Sturmgewehr 77) in August 1977. The Bullpup was a huge commercial success, and in their original configuration, it was adopted by the armed forces of more than 35 countries worldwide.
Because of the strict rules back in the late 1980s, bringing AUGs Austria to the United States is becoming increasingly difficult. Finally, in 1989, became impossible. After a brief period in 1997 in which the Steyr and GSI joined and passed 1994 federal Assault Weapons Ban to bring 3,000 "AUGs law" which features military has been removed, AUGs not over Austria never managed to enter the US again.
Then Steyr decided to start building them in the US, but the effort is actually much more complex than originally planned. The first try was a somewhat successful ending with the new management at Steyr US and US manufacturing companies clones August. I am not authorized to reveal the details of this operation, but also can create a script for a spy movie. The second attempt was also unsuccessful. Steyr US partnered with Sabre Defense, the manufacturing facility is state-of-the-art can build high-quality AUG. But Sabre ran into problems with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ending output of ultra-accurate AUGs American-made suddenly in 2009.
But Steyr never give up. The third attempt succeeded. Now AUGs high quality made in Bessemer, Alabama. For American shooters, the long road to excellence has brought the best made in the US in August and one of the top, if not the best, the battle rifle ever.
American AUG Prods
Steyr Arms offers three variants of August the First of August / A3 SA, semi-automatic versions of the family shooting in August It features the top Picatinny rail and animals of this magazine Steyr translucent polymer. The second variant, August / A3 SA NATO, as the name suggests, can use the 5.56 NATO standard magazines. The new August / A3 M1 equipped with Picatinny rail tracks over short, long, slightly higher for different sights and optics, integrated optics or 1.5X or 3X.

The new AUG/A3 M1 features several short Picatinny rails for attaching accessories
as well as a Vltor quick-detach sling swivel.
I recently tested version in August / A3 M1 with 1.5X integral, very bright and clear optics. According Alexandria OATH Maltezo ammunition was "clearly scope, I saw the gun," and saw 1.95 inches positioned above the stock comb to cheekweld solid. The new design of the tower requires a single room or a flat screwdriver for windage and elevation changes. The 1.5X optical media has a pointer with a large circle of observation, while 3X optical media has a pointer to the internal reticle that is thinner in the loop telemetry. Coverage M1 also increased with the addition of three sections Picatinny rails around the scope tube.
For those who prefer a variable power scope or red dot paired with a 3X magnifying glass, high rails are available for August / A3 M1 designed to slot number 16, extending to 2.57 inches in the rear and the receiver sits 0.82 inch, comb stock. Rail abbreviated created for the minimalistic Aimpoint Micro T-2 are sufficient, a simple CompM4 or red-dot sights. This rail has a slot 11 and ended up in the back of the receiver. It is placed at just 0.44 inches at the top of the comb.
Rail and landscapes in August / A3 M1 easily exchanged with three screw threads base below the top of the receiver. Recipients are also permanently updated to replace the front sling swivel with VLTOR quick release sling swivel, which makes it easier and faster for users to attach or remove the two point sling. One point sling Users can remove the front sling swivel entirely, if desired.
Receiver own aircraft grade anodized aluminum coated art room, and adjustable gas system. The operating system of short-stroke piston from August / A3 M1 run very clean by nature, because all exhaust vents in front of the weapon. Opponents stainless steel guide rods affixed August bolt carrier, sliding easily into the receiver for unparalleled smoothness and exceptional reliability. Dual gas adjustment settings ensure Aug / A3 M1 operates in the most adverse conditions.

Testing A3 On The Range
Steyr always synonymous with legendary precision in my mind, and this one is no different. I pulled an extraordinary group with my old August, and August / A3 M1, with cold hammer forged barrel in the US actually proved just as accurate.
aug-a3m1-twa15-triggers-682x383.1434644149
While the standard trigger (rear) is acceptable for combat situations, the optional
Hybrid Trigger Module (front)
offers a lighter, crisper trigger pull for precision.
The secret here is the combination of high-quality barrel and trigger a new hybrid module optionally available from Steyr arms. Triggers good standard fought for the gun, but the hybrid module triggers just mind blowing. This increase triggers cut by almost half, about 8 pounds for a very comfortable £ 5.19 on average, and it brings a completely different nuance to August with a smooth take-up and break crisp. The trigger option is a must for me.
The new Steyr has proven itself on the range and produced some impressive groups of sub-MOA with most of the test ammunition. Shooting groups of sub-MOA with 16-inch gun barrel is impressive. With a 16-inch barrel, you can expect a five-shot groups at 100 yards 1.5 MOA average with military ammunition class. And when shooting match quality ammo, you can expect a group of sub-MOA. It does not get much better than that for such a short barrel, and if you consider the total length in August, may be the most accurate carbine measuring less than 29 inches long.
aug-a3m1-twa15-barrel-682x383.1434644145
AUG has a interchangeable barrel that can be changed fast and accurately.
By using Aug / A3 M1, you can quickly switch barrels and sites while the rest are super accurate. The Steyr Aug / A3 M1 must be a bestseller in the tactical market saturated with clones M4. This super accurate, configurable and very cool.
